When remodeling an existing home, often nuances and challenges arise from the original build, that take careful scrutiny, planning, and consideration- in regards to the look and functionality of the final project.

While the initial design called for furniture style feet, a drastically sagging floor throughout the home quickly eliminated the aesthetic ability to scribe to the floor. Thorough and detailed assessment of a project area plays an integral role to what the final product looks like, once installed. With the furniture foot design that was initially desired, the pretty-on-paper detail started to translate the “fall” of the floor, which ultimately drew the eye to the flaw instead of beauty of the room. In some areas, a 1” drop over 6 feet was found, which required some significant design adjustments.  A subtle shoe molding was the perfect fix for the cabinets, adjusting easily to the notable floor changes over a short span.

Design details that maximize counter space, such as a cabinet with a flipper style door hinge, allows cabinets to be open and accessed, while eliminating the actual bulk of the open door.
